Algeria Prepares to Host Africa’s Largest Startup Conference Under the Theme “Reimagining Africa with Artificial Intelligence”

Algiers, August 13, 2024 – Algeria is gearing up to host Africa’s largest startup conference. The Ministry of Knowledge Economy, Startups, and Micro-enterprises will organize the third edition of the African Startup Conference, scheduled to take place from December 5 to 7, 2024, at the International Conference Center in Algiers.

The conference, themed “Reimagining Africa with Artificial Intelligence,” highlights the significance of innovation and advanced technology in driving economic and social development in Africa. The event is expected to attract over 25,000 participants, including entrepreneurs, innovators, investors, and 45 African ministers from various fields related to innovation and startups, making it a leading gathering on the continent.

Since its inception in 2022, the African Startup Conference has become a vital platform for exchanging experiences and ideas, fostering a shared space among African nations to enhance the entrepreneurial and innovation environment. Previous editions of the conference have been highly successful, contributing to the establishment of strategic partnerships and the development of innovative programs aimed at supporting startups in Africa.

The third edition of the conference aims to assess the implementation of the roadmap and charter adopted in previous editions and to establish a new roadmap for advancing artificial intelligence in Africa. It will feature summits and specialized workshops, bringing together experts, investors, and entrepreneurs to exchange ideas and experiences, and to strengthen the capabilities of startups for tangible success.

Key activities will include the African Venture Capital Summit, providing a platform for investors and innovative project owners to explore funding and collaboration opportunities. Additionally, sessions will be held to discuss the challenges and opportunities in advancing artificial intelligence on the continent, focusing on how to translate innovative ideas into tangible impacts that contribute to sustainable development.

Moreover, the third edition of the conference will host a major technology exhibition showcasing the latest innovations and technologies in artificial intelligence, allowing participants to explore new products and solutions and interact with leading companies in the field.
